San Juan del Sur

View from the house we rented for the weekend
Last weekend we went to San Juan del Sur, almost 3 hours south of Managua, with some good friends of ours. We rented a hosue just outside of the city with a pool and an amazing view, had a great dinner of surf & turf (lobster tails and marinated meat), then went Playa Hermosa the next day. G loves the beach and runs right into the waves! He and his friend S had a great time playing in the sand. I wish I had fotos of the exit from Playa Hermosa. It was pouring pouring rain when we left and the streams we crossed to get there became rivers with waterfalls. No pictures because I was holding on and complimenting R on his driving expertise as we made full use of our 4WD. Beautiful beautiful beach (near where Survivor Nicaragua was filmed apparently) that we will definitely go back to.

We have a puppy!

"G" has been wanting a puppy for a long time... or so R tells me. We finally gave in and got a lovely black lab. G is excited to the point of trembling but also is not a fan of having his face licked and being knocked down. So he has developed a foot ball touch down run stance when the puppy gets near -- one arm straight out, the other protecting his face. It's only been a day though so I'm sure either G will get more used to the "poppy" as he calls her. He did enjoy taking her for a walk today.

Meet Luna!

Gustavo goes to pre-school and dances

It's been a big week for Gustavo -- He went to pre-school for the first time (with monkey for the first day) and discovered some new dance moves. Here he is in his little uniform
Gustavo on the first day with Monkey and mantita (his blanket)

By today (day 4) he calmly waved goodbye to R (who I made drop him off because I thought I might cry too!) and went to play with the trucks! All of G's new vocabulary is transportation based: truck, train, car, bus, tractor, moto.
G has recently been showing off some fancy new dance moves. Usually he likes to be naked to dance, but here are some PG dance moments.

After getting distracted by something on the floor ans stomping on it, back to dancing.
