Visit to the Volcano

Nicaragua is known as the land of lakes and volcanoes. In fact there is a volcano just 8km from our house. We have driven past the entrance to the park countless times and each time talk about how we should check it out. Today we finally did!

It turns out the park is beautiful and has a number of great hikes which R and I were really excited about. G was excited about the rocks. We had him in the carrier for the first part, but once he was down all he wanted to do was stop and pick up rocks. For 100 cordobas (30 next week when we finally get our residency papers) -- approximately $4 US dollars -- a good time had by all!

It did get hot though, so afterwards we came home and all sat in G's kiddie pool. :-)

Some pictures from the park:

PS. Still no furniture though we did finally get the paper work from the Ministry that confirms that we dont have to pay taxes on importing our own stuff because I work for an NGO. Maybe this week. FINGERS CROSSED!
